Everest Base Camp Trek Cost

Price Rise for trekking in Nepal

The cost of living has increased, people in all countries around the world are experiencing this. Unfortunately Nepal is no exception and this has meant we have had to increase the cost of our treks. This is not something we wanted to do but we are unable to operate a sustainable and professional service without increasing our costs.

We always guarantee the same, if not better service than the multi-national travel companies that dominate the Everest Trails, we are not out to make massive profits. Our goal has always been to be the best at what we do and to stay true to our values of being fair and ethical. Our passion is providing top quality experiences at an affordable price. We are committed to providing opportunities to our team in Nepal through training and employment, we are the best at what we do because we have the best team.

The cost for our Everest Base Camp Trek has just increased from $2,490 to $3,290. This huge increase was not something we wanted to do but was unavoidable. We want to continue providing a high level service with a qualified team and this was no longer possible at the old cost.

The increase in cost is due to the rising cost of:

  • Food in Nepal (all meals are included in the cost of your trek)
  • Accommodation in Kathmandu and on the hiking trails.
  • Flights in and out of Lukla airport.
  • The cost of living in Nepal has gone up in Nepal, we need to pay our team a higher wage.

When researching the cost of trekking to Nepal please keep in mind that we have priced ours fairly. You will find treks that are cheaper but you must check whether the advertised price is in Australian or US Dollars, you must also check whether the cost of the trek includes meals and accommodation. You will notice many trekking companies charging up to twice what we ask, be assured that you do not get more by paying more.

The cost of the trek has gone up but don’t let this put you off having the most amazing experience of your life.
