CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

Take On Nepal has a responsibility to protect children at all projects and locations in Nepal where we place volunteers. We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children. Take On Nepal requests that all volunteers sign a disclaimer stating that no previous criminal history has been recorded. Volunteers intending on volunteering beyond the 3 week program will have to obtain a Blue Card. Blue Cards are issued by the Australian Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian once it has carried out the Working with Children Check to see if a person is eligible to work in the areas of child-related work covered by the Commission’s Act. If a person is eligible, they are issued a positive notice letter and a Blue Card. More Information on the Blue Card All Australian team leaders and staff will also need to obtain a Blue Card.

IT IS A REQUIREMENT THAT VOLUNTEERS

  • Are aware of situations which may present risks and minimise these
  • Inform the local staff and/or Australian staff and team leaders if they witness or suspect inappropriate behaviour by someone else

VOLUNTEERS MUST NEVER
