This trip has been designed for those who want to experience the real Nepal. The 21 day tour incorporates the sites of Kathmandu, life in a remote village and the most famous trek in the world.

Your time in remote Batase village will allow you to live along-side the villagers. You will spend time at a local school, assist the villagers with their work, and experience a lifestyle that is largely untouched by the West. Batase has been the highlight for many people who have booked this tour.

The Everest Base Camp Trek is without a doubt the most fa-mous trek in the world. To walk amongst the mighty Himalayan mountains is a humbling and awe inspiring experience. You will be captivated by the scenic views, you will be challenged by the ter-rain and conditions, but one thing is for sure, this trek will have a huge impact on you.

Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival

Your arrival in Kathmandu. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in the city by a Take on Nepal team mem-ber.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing

After breakfast you will be guided to the famous Buddhist Swayambunath Temple in Kathmandu. This temple attracts Bud-dhists and tourists from around the world. The view of Kathmandu valley from the top of the temple is stunning. The group will then enjoy a local lunch at a typical Nepali restaurant. The time after lunch is allocated for purchasing items for your time in the village.

In the evening you will enjoy a traditional Nepali dinner, after which you will have the opportunity to discuss any concerns and will be briefed on the following day’s plans.

Day 3: 4WD / car to nearby Batase Village

You will be picked up after breakfast and from your hotel and driven by 4WD / car to Batase village. You will arrive in Batase vil-lage in time for lunch after an amazing and memorable journey over the mountains.

After lunch, you will be shown around the village and taken to the village school where you will meet the teachers and students. You will take one class that afternoon.

Day 5: Return to Kathmandu

On your final morning you will enjoy breakfast before com-mencing the downhill walk for 3 hours to catch your transport back down to Kathmandu. You will depart Batase village at approximate-ly 8am and will stop in a small town for a local style lunch at ap-prox 1pm.

The trip in an incredible experience in itself. You will pass through small villages with spectacular mountain views.

You will arrive in Kathmandu at approx 3pm, where you will dropped off at your hotel and given much needed time to relax and shower!

You will have time in the afternoon to prepare for the following days trip to Lukla.

Day 6: Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding

In the morning, you will take a forty minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, located at 2865m in the Khumbu region of Eastern Nepal, and providing great views of the stepped landscape and river valley, as well as fantastic views of the mountains. After arriving at Lukla, the trek to Phakding begins. (2650m).

Day 7: Phakding – Namche Bazaar

3466m. Today is a challenging day, you will trek for seven hours through stunning forests filled with rhododendron, while trekking this steep and often difficult section of the journey you will experience surroundings of blue pine forests, firs, and junipers, all this with the majestic Mount Everest in the background.

Day 8: Acclimatisation Day in Namche Bazaar

This day is for rest and to acclimatise, you can spend the day exploring the lively town of Namche, you will also have the choice to visit the Everest View Hotel which is the highest hotel in the world and will provide you with a perfect view of the mighty Mount Everest. Namche also has a museum which displays exhibits on the local flora and fauna, it will also provide you with background information on the Everest area.

Day 9: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

3865m. Participants begin their trek with breathtaking, unforgettable views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Cholatse, Kantaiga, AmaDablam and Thamserku. From Namche to Phunki is a quite easy walk (approximately three hours), followed by a three-hour steep walk to Tengboche. Tengboche is a traditional Sherpa settlement, you will see the local monastery and gain an understanding of the importance of Buddhism in the mountain communities.

Day 10: Tengboche – Pheriche

4250m. A short day’s journey to Pheriche consisting of a trek down to Devuche and a crossing of the Imja River, before climbing to Pheriche where there is a HRA Trekkers’ aid post. Once arriving in Pheriche, you will have the afternoon for a well-deserved rest and relaxation.

Day 11: Acclimatization Day in Pheriche

Spend the day acclimatising. Your guides will advise you of short walks that you can take to Dingboche and Chhukung. These walks will allow you to experience incredible views of the world’s highest peaks.

Day 12: Pheriche – Lobuje

4920m. The ascent will continue up to Khumbu Glacier where you will pass a row of stone monuments built in memory of six Sherpas who died in an avalanche at Lobuje. The terrain has changed and you are now in the snow and amongst the Himalayan giants. You will be in awe at the sheer size and beauty of the mountains surrounding you.

Day 13: Lobuche – GorakShep – Kala Patthar

5150m – 5540m. Today is a glacier walk. You will right up and amongst the Himalayan mountains. You will be too close to Mount Everest to see the peak but you will have clear views of the Kumbhu Glacier. It will be a humbling experience today being amongst the highest peaks in the world. You will never in your life forget your time at Kala Patthar, you are well and truly amongst the Himalayan giants.

Day 14: GorakShep – Everest Base Camp

5380m. Pass the Khumbu Glacier on the way to Everest Base Camp, which is as high as you can go without mountain climbing equipment. You’ll be able to see the Khumbu Icefall from the camp before descending to Lobuche for the evening.

Day 15: Lobuje – Dingboche

4110m. An easy descent down to Dingboche, filled with incredible vistas of the Himalayas.

Day 16: Dingboche – Namche Bazaar

Descent to Namche Bazaar.

Day 17: Day of Rest and Exploration at Namche Bazaar

Explore the market and use this time to purchase goods made in the Everest region (if required).

Day 18: Namche Bazaar – Lukla

Trek back down to Lukla for your final night in the Khumbu region – trekkers will have time to explore Lukla.

Day 19: Lukla – Kathmandu

You will be up early for your return flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, once you arrive in Kathmandu you can take it easy, and take some time to reflect on the journey.

If you still have energy, you can spend the afternoon visiting some of the cultural sights in this fascinating city, a guide can be arranged for you at a small cost. Sightseeing recommendations will be provided to you by our guide.

Day 20: Rest Day in Kathmandu

Your final day in Kathmandu is a free day for you to do as you choose. Many people take the time to shop (our local guide can advise you on the best shops in the area), others enjoy exploring the cultural side of the city.

In the evening, you will enjoy a final traditional Nepali meal with your group. This is a time to reflect on the incredible journey that you have been on, and to say farewell to your guide.

Day 21: Final Departure

Final Goodbye! A local guide will travel with you to the airport. We hope that you will have fond memories of your Take on Nepal trip and we look forward to seeing you in Nepal again.
